Online Devotional

Sunday 26th April 2020

Call to worship:

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name. Worship the Lord in the splendour of His Holiness” Psalm 29 v2

Praise my soul

Prayer:

Remind yourself this is Sunday and when as a church we would have physically gathered together. Pray through the devotional we may be still and know He is God. Pray we seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ask him to examine our hearts and root out what prevents us from listening to and following Him. Pray His Name will be honoured through His Word today and in our lives.

Readings:

Psalm 23 on page 555 NIV

Luke Ch 15 v1-7 on page 1048 NIV

I will sing the wondrous story

The 23rd Psalm: Singing the Lord’s Song in our tumultuous times:(3) “Fleeing or Following the Shepherd ”

Prayer: Pray over what you have heard today. Pray about the Coronavirus Crisis: Remember our leaders in the decisions they are having to make daily. Pray for families who grieve and having to arrange funerals with restrictions on numbers and who can attend. Pray for those who are being restored to health by the care of Nursing and Medical staff. Pray that the Lord may lead us in right paths for His Name’s sake. Pray He may draw us closer to himself at this time to refresh our soul or to restore our soul if we have fallen away from Him. Pray for one another in the congregation.

10,000 reasons: Bless the Lord O my soul

Blessing: “May the God of peace who through the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the Sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will and may he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews Ch 13 v20)

For thinking over:

Read Luke Ch 15 v1-7 again

What is the most valuable possession you’ve ever lost?
What did you do to try to find it?
Is Jesus the Good Shepherd looking for you?
