Sunday 13 September

Introit:

Call to worship:

Glory be to God the Father

Children’s Story

Children’s Chorus: I have decided to follow Jesus

Reading: John Ch 4 v39-54 read by Fraser

I believe in Jesus

Follow the Signs to Jesus: The signs in John’s Gospel: (2): “So he and all his household believed.”

Pray over what you have heard: Give thanks for the Lord Jesus. Pray that through this crisis there will be those who will come to a living faith rather than turn away from faith in Jesus and His Church. Pray if you, or anyone you know are fearful right now. Come to the Lord asking Him you may trust Him in every way and for everything. Pray for those who are receiving medical care today. Remember one another as a Church, and as new local restrictions mean no visits to one another’s homes. Serve one another through this time by prayer, practically and by phone. Today we should have been celebrating the Lord’s Supper at the Lord’s Table as a Church Family. Though we are gathering on a Sunday for worship with the constraints placed upon us, pray for the time when we will meet without restrictions and in greater numbers once again.

Barnabus Fund prayer for Sunday 13th Sep: Lord Jesus Christ, we praise you for the faithfulness of Christians in China in the midst of growing persecution, when worship services are attacked, church buildings are demolished, digital surveillance tracks every move, and elderly believers are deprived of their pensions. Please give them strength and grace to bear their suffering. May your people show your character in their lives. May they bring peace, love, joy and harmony to their society and show to the communist authorities the reality of your presence and power.

Leaning on the everlasting arms

Blessing: “The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Amen
