Sunday 21st June

Call to worship:

“Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out Abba Father.” Galatians Ch 4 v6

Name of all Majesty

Prayer:

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews ch 4 v10). Come to the throne, with your praises and petitions for He is God Almighty, the holy one. Give thanks that we can call Him Father. Ask He will accept our time of devotion today offering our whole life worship each and every day. Give thanks for the Lord Jesus Christ, whom we have praised who left the glory of heaven humbling himself, born as a baby into the world, serving rather than be served, and obedient to death even death on a cross. Give thanks He has risen and His Name is praised in heaven and on earth. Give thanks God has poured out His grace to us through His Son who has reconciled us through repentance and faith in Him, who knew no sin, becoming sin for us that we may experience full forgiveness and in His mercy we now belong to His family. Confess to Him who is on the throne when we have forgotten He is Lord and our status and calling to live as children of Light than children of darkness. Pray we may be fruitful and growing Disciples of Christ in knowledge, character and service and to keep in step with the Spirit. Amen

Living a Fruitful Life: The Fruit of the Spirit (3): “Peace”

Prayer:

Ask the Lord to grow this fruit in our life. Pray over the areas in our life which need His peace right now as we follow the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Pray for our nation and world which lacks peace. Pray for the peace and unity of the Church. Pray that there will be those through these difficult times who are being led to seek peace with God through Christ Jesus. Pray we may be a channel of His peace this week. Pray as restrictions are lifted for those who are being told to shield until the end of July. Pray for those in the congregation who are in hospital. Pray for the right time and preparation to be in place as and when we are given permission to meet physically once again.  Pray also for the family of John Beattie who has sadly passed away.

When peace like a river

Blessing:

““May the peace O God that you give which passes all understanding, stand guard over our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. “Amen.

To think over:

On a scale of 0 to 5, how would you assess your Peace with God? Peace within yourself? Peace with others?
What, if anything, is currently disturbing your peace?
Talk to God about anything you’re worried about, cast your anxieties on Him.
