Sunday 24th May

Call to worship:

This is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins 1 John Ch 4 v9

Here is Love vast as the Ocean

Pray: Think of, then thank God for His great and steadfast love to us. Remember His great love shown to us in His Son and our Saviour, Christ Jesus. Give thanks for the love that Jesus has shown to us through his death on the cross, that we might have the full assurance of forgiveness and reconciliation through faith in Him. The psalmist was to say “If you O Lord kept a record of sins O Lord who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, therefore you are revered” Psalm 130 v3. Come to His throne of grace. Come in your need. Search your heart whether your professed love for the Lord has become lukewarm or cold. Pray that the online devotional today will draw us nearer to Him with a newly discovered, or a renewed love for the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and to see His goodness and love to us.

Our Father who is in Heaven hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever Amen.

The House of the Lord

Pray:  Pray over what you have heard today. Pray that all the days of our life we will seek to be faithful to Christ. Pray for courage and faith through these days if we are fearful. Pray for His Church. As other countries begin to lift restrictions regarding meeting as Church, that when it eventually happens for us, for wisdom in the details, for patience in the interim, and for Christian love to deepen among us and be evident in all things. Pray for those who are wondering or despairing about life. Pray for the Foodbank in Renfrew, for volunteers who help and the men and women and families they minister to. Pray for residents and staff at Craigielea Care Home and Renfrew Care Home. Pray for Thy Kingdom Come. Pray that many will be open to the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray as we begin a new week the 23rd Psalm will be our song of faith whatever we face.

Knowing You Jesus

Blessing:

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”   1 Peter Ch 5 10-11
